1990 is the year Salomon decided to put its name on the ski manufacturers map with their offering of the S9000 series racing ski.
Salomon didn't offer their skis in centimeters, instead, they offered the Pr or 'power' ranking.

The lower the Pr number, the shorter the ski
Salomon believed that the length of a ski should be determined by the skier's weight vs height.
They had 3 skis in the S9000 lineup.
